Watermelon Summer Crush
The sun is out in full force and summer is upon us! What will you be wearing this summer to get into the jovial, carefree spirit?
Well, I’ve got some sun on my skin and am now sporting a bit of a tan. With that said, I can now go to a place where normally I cannot - fluro, the watermelon kind, that is!
COUNTRY INSPIRATION Here is a close up of my Country Road scarf which has inspired my watermelon crush this summer!
Don’t you just love the perfect combination of watermelon, white, black and yellow? I’ve picked up the sunny shade in little gold earrings – bright and unexpected against basic black.
BUILDING ON BASICS The most inexpensive way to expand your wardrobe from one season to the next is by introducing on-trend accessories. Just by adding one multi-colored scarf, this black top is given a summer ’13 update!
WATERMELON DREAM On the top half, I’m wearing a black vest from Zara while the waistcoat is my own design from Satwa, made out of peach silk and inspired by the uber-stylish Jen Aniston! This is my staple uniform look - comfortable and casual for any occasion.
The watermelon skinny jeans are by Massimo Dutti and are available in-stores now. I consider these a solid investment – consistently beautiful in quality, not to mention that feel-good summer feeling of sunny happy days and unbridled confidence!
BLOCKING BASICS I simply adore this neutral meets luminous color combination – my own personal take on the color blocking phenomenon. And if watermelon doesn’t work with your skin tone, experiment with the season’s juicy shades to find your perfect match! 
DARLING DIOR These shoes are 2 years old and my standby ‘good’ shoes – perfect for this work-in-the-morning, mum-in-the-afternoon! The only heel you’re going to find me in these days is low in height and solid in quality. This Dior purchase was a winner and I haven’t looked back since!
FRESH & FABULOUS There really is nothing like a fresh burst of color to inject some lightness into your overall mood.
Whatever your choice of colors and clothing, the best fashion accessory you can wear this season is a bright, cheery smile.
So throw on a can-do attitude and your favorite lippy, and make this summer your best one yet!
