STYLE ICON: Margherita Missoni
One of fashion’s most stylish and down to earth families gathered together in the heart of the Italian countryside for a magical, gypsy-inspired wedding this weekend.
Margherita Missoni married her racing driver love Eugenio Amos. The 29-year-old heiress to her family’s fashion house wed Amos at the Santa Maria Annunciata church in Brunello, Italy.
Many years ago I met her grandparents Rosita and Ottavio Missoni when I was in Berlin attending the IHT Luxury conference hosted by Suzy Menkes. Rosita and Ottavio Missoni were a warm and welcoming couple with big hearts, I am sure the wedding was a beautiful affair, just as warm and beautiful as I remember them.
Since returning to the family business after her time living in New York pursuing acting Margherita has experienced great success. Margherita is pictured here with her mother Angela the current creative director at Missoni.
Back in 2010 Angela commented she would consider stepping down as Missoni creative director in a couple of years to make way for the next generation; now that the wedding is out of the way we could see big changes in the Missoni empire.
We just love the feeling of family in this picture with all of the gorgeous framed photographs.
Here pictured in front of another beautiful Missoni printed fabric wearing a simple pashmina and pink earrings.
Only the most stylish women of the world can make this ensemble look good, Margherita effortlessly wears leopard, print and patterns all at once!
We have no doubt that Margherita has the innate sense of style and the ability to take the label’s creative direction into the next century. Last year alone Missoni’s success at wool, print, pattern, hotels and further collaborations rewarded them with revenues of more than 150 million euros. We can sit back and watch the next generation’s creative vision unfold – the question is where too next?
